The warmest day of the season so far, and while a lot of junior golfers were tuning up the the Canadian Optimist and Callaway Junior World qualifying, a determined and enthusiastic group took on the wonderful new links style layout in Maple Ridge, known as the Heather Hills GC. Conditions were ideal and so were our Junior Linkster's.

Age 8 & Under “Pee Wees” were led by Dylan Bercan of Vancouver, who had one birdie on the way to a solid 62 and another first place trophy well deserved. Second spot and the silver medal went to another up and coming young junior golfer, Zackary Wilensky of Coquitlam. Jesse Tomica of Langley won a close one for the bronze medal and couldn't have been prouder of his feat at Heather Hills. He is just learning the game and really enjoying the fun and new friends he meets at each event. Well done!

Age 10 – 12 “Divots” division featured a personal best for Andrew Spalti of Vancouver, firing a super 57 including a back nine 26, one under par. His three birdies really inspired that finish! In second spot for the silver medal was fast improving Riley Baynton of Coquitlam, just edging out Vancouver's Chris Fletcher who earns bronze.

Age 13 – 15 “Tiger Cubs” division saw the best 18 hole score of the day, and even par 54, with three birdie two's to help Jake Scarrow of Dewdney walk off with the first place trophy. Deroche's Noah Driessen likes the silver medal for second spot and his back nine 30 allowed him to get past a determined Philip Mak of Vancouver.

Junior Girls Division winner by a wide margin this time was Surrey's Claire Lovan, whose nifty score of 70 was the best of the girls. Our newer members are still benefitting from playing such wonderful courses with such good pals, so congratulations to Coquitlam's Euna Han whose back nine score was one shot lower on the tie breaker system and Maple Ridge's own Amy Ehlert settles for the bronze medal this time.
