Our generous hosts, the Robson family at Heather Hills GC offered their venue again for Optimist Junior Linkster golfers, and despite the wind and rain, the golf course retained it's superb quality and some amazing golf was recorded.

Age 6 & Under “Pee Wees” were led again by the classy smooth swinging Jeevan Sihota of Victoria, posting a 64 which included one birdie “2”. Second spot went to Zackary Wilensky of Coquitlam. Zachary had the first Junior Linkster “Hole-in-One” of the season last time at Heather Hills. In the Age 6 and Under “9-Hole Division”, Maple Ridge's Thomas Reed was in top spot, with four year old Nathan Szpakowicz of Vancouver coming in second. Well done!

Age 7 – 8 “Pee Wees” again featured the solid and exciting play of Vancouver's Ilirian Zalli. Ilirian's 3 birdies and a score of 55 put him way out in front of a steady and game competitor, David Hu, also from Vancouver. Third place went to the steadily improving Markus Yiu of Vancouver.

Age 9 – 10 “Divots” winner, another solid game for Raymond Li of Vancouver, whose 61edged out Richmond's Michael Crisologo. Michael had two “deuces”(two's) in his round of 64. Andrew Spalti of Vancouver was third.

Age 11 – 12 “Bear Cubs” winner, with 12 3's and one 2, was Philip Mak of Vancouver, whose 58 was the day's third best score, six strokes up on Vancouver's Chris Fletcher. Christian Zall of Vancouver had a well earned third spot.

Age 13 – 15 “Tiger Cubs” winner, from Deroche, B.C., is Noah Driessen. Pal Joel Kraakman, also of Deroche, finished in the second spot position.

Junior Girls Age 10 & Under division winner is also getting used to being in first spot and taking the Optimist Junior Linkster trophy. Surrey's Claire Lovan is your champion and Amy Ehlert of Maple Ridge was second.

Junior Girls Age 11 & Up winner is the classy world-class young Miss, Tiffany Kong of Vancouver, recording 13 three's and two 2's for a great 55!!! Deroche's Janelle Kraakman, just starting to play, had two 2's and was second.

There are still three more events to go in the Maple Ridge Series of 5 events at the Heather Hills GC, with the overall low differential scoring average receiving a special “Swinkey” training aid.(see www.swinkey.ca) Optimist Harry White a Professional golfer and Moe Norman devotee, is providing the special prize.
