Par 54, 1204yds NEWS - April 24, 2011 The picturesque and delightfully friendly West Vancouver layout hosted an enthusiastic group of junior golfers, boys and girls, with great conditions, firm and rolling greens and the bonus of sunshine and many happy smiles. Age 6 & Under “Pee Wees” led the way with Maple Ridge's Thomas REED taking the title. Thomas has grown a lot and recorded no less than 9 three's on his card. Two newcomers took second and third place medals, namely Ethan Postumus of Coquitlam & Noah Karlgren of Vancouver. Young Ethan enjoyed his two birdie-two's on the front nine, terrific for a 5 year-old! Age 7 – 8 “Pee Wees” , had Junior World winner Jeevan SIHOTA use his steady play to take the first place trophy with a super score of 57. Always at the podium, Sher SIDHU of Langley takes the silver and a well deserved third place bronze medal to Ryan Yap of Richmond. Age 9 – 10 “Divots” division saw the day's best score, a 56, recorded by Ilirian ZALLI of Vancouver, taking the trophy, with the hard charging Dylan Bercan of Vancouver taking the silver medal at 58 and Surrey's smooth swinging Jess Lee firing 58 for third. This division has the most players and are they great! Junior Girl's Age 8 & Under Division winner was Euna HAN of Surrey, again demonstrating the value of good cheer to all her fellow competitors and the commitee! Silver medal to Alyssa Chang, visiting from Kelowna, with the bronze medal happily accepted by Seattle's Lauryn Nguyen. Great to see youngsters from Washington, Kelowna and Victoria areas. It's smiles all around! Age 9 – 10 Jr. Girls winner, with another very solid round, Claire LOVAN of Surrey adds to her trophy case. Silver medal to the athletic Emily Tees of Surrey and Maple Ridge's Amy Ehlert, who just turned 9 last week, collects the bronze.
